Hey all! I'm an old GHI player, just updated it for the first time since the one released directly before Cata (Some version around that time.) Alot of my items have music/sounds playing that I have cut short, say its the Goblin 17 Cata soundtrack thats a minute and a half long - I cut it down to 30 seconds with /script StopMusic(). Lately, however, I've noticed that StopMusic() doesn't seem to work. Is there any workaround or solution to this?

Game Music and Game Sounds play on different channels. StopMusic() works on stuff in the music channel. GHI plays sounds in the sound channel and not music, so it may not work for sounds from a GHI item.

You could of course use a script to play a sound in the music channel instead of a standard GHI sound action.

Oh, thank you for explaining. But I have another question then, if you'd still be willing to help. This script here is what plays the music.

PlaySoundFile("Sound\\Music\\cataclysm\\MUS_Goblin_UU17.MP3")

Thats as a script and is not selected from the sound tooltip. How do I get that song to play as just a script, and how would I cut it short then without StopMusic()?

Don't use PlaySoundFile if you want to do that. Use this:

yeah we use the sound channel, not the music channel. Various API reasons. somethings one allows over the other.
